Braided and Felted
is the first of the experiments in combining oblique interlacing and felting.
Braided from wool tops (Fine merino wool/40% silk blend); 11 strands.
, braided with wool tops. (Fine merino wool/silk blend - white is 40% silk, green is 15%); 15 strands.
Detail of a braid made with Nylon ribbon, felbi wool batt (thin needle-felt sheets). The batts started at twice the width of the ribbon, it was braided with no gaps, then felted.
Detail of Triple Trouble scarf
which is like three interlinked scarves of black, white and multicolour.
